
CNet is reporting that Apple is planning to update the MacBook Air this June, and will be utilizing the new Intel “Sandy Bridge” processors.

The MacBook Air refresh is expected in June, according to a source familiar with Apple’s plans.
This is newsworthy because the MacBook Air line was traditionally one processor generation behind the rest of the MacBook lines. If all of these rumors come to fruition, all of the MacBook lines would be utilizing the same processor for the first time.
It’s widely believed that Apple stuck with Intel’s Core 2 Duo processors for the MacBook Air because they could use NVIDIA’s integrated graphics chips with that processor instead of using a different processor that would have to use Intel’s less powerful integrated graphics chip. Sandy Bridge on the other hand has jumped that hurdle and Intel’s new integrated solution would be equal to NVIDIA’s.
