Digitimes is reporting that the next-generation iPhone will have a 4-inch screen.
Here’s an excerpt:
The component suppliers noted that the production lines for Apple’s next generation iPhone have begun testing, and Apple is interesting in expanding the screen size to 4-inches to support the tablet PC market as the vendor only has a 9.7-inch iPad in the market.
The only reason this rumor is really worth reporting on, is the fact that there are also rumors floating around that Apple will also introduce a new, smaller, iPhone.
With Digitimes spotty track record in mind, this actually makes sense to me. Make one model slightly larger, and retain the on-board storage and everything else we love about the iPhone, while introducing a new, smaller iPhone that lacks on-board storage and keeps the smaller 3.5-inch screen we all know and love. I doubt it plays out this way, but it’s interesting to ponder.
