TwelveSouth make some excellent accessories for Apple devices. I own two of their stands for the iPad and they’re both among my favorite iPad accessories. Their latest offering is the MagicWand – which connects a Magic Trackpad to Apple’s wireless keyboard.
Here’s a portion of their Intro to it:
What is MagicWand? It’s a cool little accessory that connects Apple’s Magic Trackpad to your Apple Wireless Keyboard, creating the sleek, one-piece input device you’ve been imagining. MagicWand creates an amazingly efficient keyboard you can pair with iMac, MacBook and your Apple home theater setup. Use it on your desk, the sofa or anyplace else you use your Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple’s Magic Trackpad.
I’ve never used a Magic Trackpad and I don’t use my wireless keyboard on a typical day, so this is not an accessory that I desperately need. I did notice today though that it got a very postive review from our friend Joshua Schnell at Macgasm. Here’s a bit of his thinking on the MagicWand:
Leave it to Twelve South to come up with a device that’s both so simple, and painstakingly obvious in hindsight, that it’s a must-have. The MagicWand literally connects your Magic Trackpad to your Apple Wireless Keyboard. You slide both devices into the MagicWand, connect the spacer, and away you go. The end result is a consolidated device: Magic Trackpad and Keyboard united at last. Like I said off the top, I was skeptical, but after playing with it for the last couple of days, I’m not exactly sure how I functioned without it.
The MagicWand goes for $29.99 – and you can get more details on it and place an order at the TwelveSouth page for it here:
