System Specs for New 13-Inch MacBook Pros Leaked

MacRumors is reporting on the leaked system specs for the new 13-inch MacBook Pro which is expected to be released tomorrow.

In a nut, the new machines would have:

-2.3 GHz Core i5 Dual-core processor, 3 MB cache
-4 GB of DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM
-320GB 5400rpm hard drive
-13.33 “glossy 1280×800 Screen
-Intel Graphics HD 3000 with 384MB of RAM shared with main memory
-Built-in HD FaceTime camera
-8X Slot-loading Superdrive
-Thunderbolt port supports high-speed I/O and Mini DisplayPort devices
-SDXC Card slot, Firewire 800 and two USB 2.0

Additionally, Mac4Ever has posted an image of what looks like the side of the MacBook Pro’s shipping box. Emphasis is placed on the inclusion of “Thunderbolt” High-speed I/O, which appears to be Apple’s branding of the new LightPeak standard.

Mac4Ever later posted a close-up image of the new Thunderbolt port. It’s essentially the same as Apple’s current Mini DisplayPort, but with the higher-speed, and very flexible I/O of LightPeak.

In sum, expect modest processor boosts tomorrow, but the big announcement will be new Thunderbolt I/O.
