As Alex mentioned last night in his post on Mac OS X Lion, the new version of the OS expected out this summer will include an integrated server version. The more I hear about Lion, the more I can’t wait to see it and run it on my MacBook Pro. And this new integrated server definitely sounds potentially awesome to me.
Here are my two favorite features of the new Lion Server:
Easy Setup
Lion Server guides you through configuring your Mac as a server. And it provides local and remote administration — for users and groups, push notifications, file sharing, calendaring, mail, contacts, chat, Time Machine, VPN, web, and wiki services — all in one place.
Profile Manager
Profile Manager delivers simple, profile-based setup and management for Mac OS X Lion, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. It also integrates with your existing directory services and delivers automatic over-the-air profile updates using the Apple Push Notification service.
For a household with multiple Macs, these are killer features. I’m starting to feel quite excited about seeing Lion released later this year.
What’s your favorite new feature in Lion?
