Bloomberg is reporting that Verizon’s Chief Financial Officer, Fran Shammo, will stop offering unlimited data plans for the iPhone as early as this summer.

The carrier, which began selling the iPhone last month, now offers a $30 unlimited data plan on the device. Such plans on the handset are “not a long-term solution,” Shammo said on a conference call at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference today.
This isn’t a surprising development considering we’ve heard hints that unlimited data would be offered early in the Verizon iPhone’s launch, and not long after that. Also, with the information we have now, it seems that customers with unlimited data plans will be grandfathered in on their next contract.
