Portal 1.1 for iPhone: bookmarklets, faster loading, and more

Well, that was fast. I reviewed Portal 1.0 ($1.99) just a few weeks ago, but here it is again in March wearing a nifty new 1.1 hat. The browser feels a bit snappier when loading pages and, although I haven’t had a chance to use the bookmarklets just yet, they seem like they’ll come in handy.

In other quick news, if you’re jailbroken and would like to use Portal as the true default browser for your iPhone, the app is now supported in the Browser Changer extension on Cydia. Just download the extension, set Portal to default (Settings -> Browser Changer), and watch as all the links that would normally open in Safari go through Portal instead. 🙂
