Verbs 1.2 for iPhone: landscape support, improved navigation

Verbs ($2.99) is one of the two iOS instant messsenger apps that I enjoy using on my iPhone (the other being Beejive). I reviewed the initial release in late December and thought that it showed quite a lot of promise, and although there are still a number of aspects that I’d like to see ironed out (local notifications being one of them), I think Verbs 1.2 is now good enough to become my main IM app.

That’s because the application, as a whole, is now a lot easier to navigate and use. Tapping on notifications will now take you directly to the relevant chat, tapping and holding in the chat list will let you zoom quickly though multiple tabs , and the whole app now features Landscape support.  I also find that Verbs is still a hell of a lot faster at re-connecting (approximately one second) to the Google Talk network than Beejive (approximately 5-10 seconds, or forever), which makes a huge difference when I want to log on and fire a quick message off to a friend.

A big thanks goes out to #include tech for what’s looking to be a very solid little update.
