I really can’t believe how expensive some of the basic image manipulation software is, and I really don’t feel I should have to pay anything to batch resize a set of images, so I decided to google a whole bunch of Mac Automator tips (this one from eHow.com helped me get a template together) and learn a little bit about how to use the handy little robot.
If you’re unfamiliar with Automator, it’s basically a simplified script editor with a whole lot of drag-n-drop elements, so that, one you know the lay of the land, making your own little script or program is just a matter of dragging stuff from left to right and clicking Save.
You may have some other amazing uses for Automator, but here’s how I’m using it to rotate images on my desktop with two clicks (best viewed in fullscreen so you can read the text):
