Macotakara is reporting that the next-generation iPhone will be dropping the glass back and will be returning to aluminum, similar to that of the original iPhone.

Decision to design similar to iPod touch instead of using glass is supposed that Apple seems to stop problems which are told widely damages from scratching, difficulties of painting white and weight of glass.

The report also claims that the new iPhone will have yet another redesigned antenna, with Apple giving up on the external antenna that caused them a major PR heartache after the iPhone 4 launched last summer.

This is the first we’ve really heard about the “iPhone 5” design. None of this sounds unreasonable to me. Apple, despite their massive success with the iPhone 4, has has a lot of PR controversy with the product. People complaining about a non-existent antenna issue, and the fragility of glass. All of this could disappear with the simple introduction of an aluminum backing. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
