iOS 4.3 To Limit Hotspot Wi-Fi Sharing to Three Devices for iPhone 4 Customers in Other Countries? [UPDATED]

Anyway, the memo mentions that they Hotspot Wi-Fi sharing feature being introduced with iOS 4.3 will only support 3 devices. Worth noting at this point, in case you were wondering, is that AT&T has confirmed that they will be supporting Hotspot sharing once it is available via the software update.
An excerpt:

According to this here slide, which details a bit of insidery AT&T information about the impending release of iOS 4.3, Ma Bell’s iPhone 4 will have its Personal Hotspot restricted to use with just three devices. Just about every MiFi / mobile hotspot device we’ve ever seen — including Verizon’s iPhone 4 — has supported five WiFi devices, but unless AT&T pulls a 180 here, it’ll be limiting its iPhone to just three connections.

Not surprisingly, Apple’s own documentation echos much of the same found in AT&T’s memo. You can read it here if you so choose. Another oddity to point out is that while Apple’s iOS 4.3 documents for Canada, Japan, and several other countries point out that only three devices will be supported, the same documents for European customers suggest five devices will be supported.

Engadget later updated the post to point out that this is indeed an iOS 4.3 limitation. To connect the full five devices two of them will have to be connected to the hotspot via Bluetooth.

[UPDATE] Boy Genius Report claims that iOS 4.3 will support three devices by Wi-Fi, but will support five devices if the carriers so choose.
