I know, I know. I just posted on Notified Pro a moment ago but, trust me, this is worth it and it deserves its own spot in the bloglight.
NotificationGriP by Samball, one of the third-party extensions for Notified Pro, has received a number of awesome little updates since I covered it last September. Chief among these changes are two features — Show on Lockscreen and Collapse Notifications — that really take Notified to the next level.
The first toggle, Show on Lockscreen, is now set to OFF on my iPhone, meaning that I won’t get any of Notified’s pop-ups on my lockscreen, and am therefore free to rely on LockInfo to manage all of my notifications there.
The second toggle, Collapse Notifications, is helpful if you’d like to establish a minimal notification setup. When activated, all of your notifications will appear in a collapsed state (~40 pixels high — see screenshot above) and will display buttons to maximize or dismiss the notification, or open the app. Once maximized, the notifications will appear as they always have in NotificationGriP (that is to say, awesome).
I started the evening off last night excited about the Notified 2 beta, but I have to admit that Samball’s plugin has really stolen the show. It’s also compatible with the new Notified beta, although you’ll have to move a few images files around to get app icons back.
