AT&T Quietly Offering “A-List” And Free Mobile Calls

If you have one of the higher minute plans with AT&T, check to see if it qualifies for two money-saving features that AT&T is offering – but not making much noise about.

AT&T has been offering their “A-List” for some time now – a feature similar to those from other carriers that allows you to specify up to 10 numbers that you may call without using your minutes.   If you call certain numbers a lot over the course of a month, this can save you quite a bit of minutes.  The feature can be managed from both AT&T’s web site and their iOS mobile app (although changes take 24 hours to become effective).

However, don’t go adding your most-called mobile numbers yet.  AT&T has recently started offering free mobile to mobile calls as part of an upgraded unlimited messaging plan as well.    While they have been offering free mobile-to-AT&T-mobile calls for some time as well, if you have an unlimited text messaging plan, you can now convert that to unlimited text PLUS unlimited calls to ANY US mobile phone (yes, on any US carrier!) for NO extra charge.

The way my plan is now, I get:

* Free calls to up to 10 landlines (A-List)

* Free calls to any US-carrier mobile phone (Unlimited messaging + mobile)

* Free nights/weekends calling

Which means that the only calls that use minutes right now are weekday calls to/from landline numbers that are not on my A-List.   That translates into lots of rollover minutes for me, and some decent money saved.   Hopefully it can for you as well!
