Here’s a very cool thing that I had not noticed when Apple announced iMovie for iPad at last week’s iPad 2 unveiling event: iMovie is now a universal app, designed to run on the iPad 2, iPhone 4, or iPod Touch 4th gen.
And it’s still just $4.99. That strikes me as a helluva good price for such a powerful app, for use across your iOS devices. Apple could have easily made the iPad 2 app a separate entity and charged at least $9.99 for it – probably a fair bit more and still sell tons.
I’m not sure how much iOS developers will like Apple setting such a low cost for such a premium sort of app, but as a user it’s hard to dislike this.
Here’s an App Store link for iMovie – and one more for Apple’s guided tour videos of iMovie and plenty of their iPad apps: http://www.apple.com/ipad/guided-tours/
