Minigore (currently $0.99), one of the best dual stick shooting games on the iPhone, has added a couple of new characters to the game, but only for owners of a particular set of $1.99 Hardland Premium DLC (the one that includes Grandpa — I can’t believe I just typed that).
I’d normally include a bit of feedback for these app updates, but I don’t own the DLC set that contains these new AI partner and Penguin Mob characters, and I don’t think I like the idea enough to warrant the4 $2 purchase. Quite frankly, I also think the DLC packs are getting a little confusing, even for long-time players like myself. It has come to the point where I have to load the game up to check which DLC packs I’ve already paid for, as well as whether or not I’ll have access to the new characters (are they new DLC, or an addition to a pack I’ve already bought?).
One of the simple ways that the devs at Mountain Sheep could solve this issue would be to clearly label DLC packs. Each DLC pack clearly states all the characters it includes right at the top of the screen, but it really doesn’t help that every single one of them is called “Hardland Premium”.
