Just A Quick iOS Keyboard Rant

Here’s one very simple wish I have for the iPhone keyboard in a future update: just a little more trust. Typos happen often enough on real keyboards, so I can understand why Apple developed such an aggressive auto-correct system for the iPhone. But I am getting quite tired of having my iPhone second ( and third) guess me when I type a word out several times. The most recent example is from a minute ago, as I tried desperately to type the word “addled”.

First it turned into arrows, so I erased it, typed it out again, and had it turn into something else. This gets even worse when you try to spell basic two-letter words, especially in text messages, where you’re far more likely to press send after quickly typing a few words out.
