New Report Claims Near Field Communication Not Coming to Next-iPhone, Perhaps 2012

In the past we had heard reports that Apple would be adopting Near Field Communication (NFC) hardware in their next-generation iPhone. This addition would allow customers to make wireless purchases with their iPhone.

NFC didn’t show up in the iPad 2 as the old report claimed, and a new report from The Independent claims that the next-generation iPhone will not be receiving NFC either. They claim rather that NFC technology will make it’s way to 2012’s iPhone.

Long story short, this seems like an inevitable inclusion in iOS devices, however, deployment seems to be a little slow, and, at least from the outside looking in, Apple seems hesitant to introduce the technology to the masses.
