Just to let you all know own every (you can put that in caps) calculator and note app for ipad and iphone (GTD is kinda my hobby) and nothing beats aNote and Evernote.

MIchael sorry to hear about your problems I have never lost any of my data or had conflicts of any kind.
I have Evernote Full account and just sync with it no google.
Only problem im having is geting calendars like iCal and Outlook etc to feed info into my evernote/aNote workflow.
Also aNote doesnt like pdf and sound attachments so for those i have dedicated notebooks/folders inside Evernote that dont sync to aNote

I am looking to write up a post regarding how i manage my GTD with aNote. Hit me up with an email if you would like to know more.

Quick tip – you can email anything to one in my case INBOX folder that you setup in evernote.

Yes- it is possible to filter through Google docs, or Evernote, to sync iPhone and iPad Awesome note folders and data. BUT (yes, all caps!)- it is slow, buggy, not a 100% equal sync (details changed or left out). I used iPhone aNote often… “used” past tense. Then I bought an iPad, and as I started to use aNote on it, I found quickly the difficulty of keeping my important notes, dates, tasks efficiently and accurately up-to-date. And we all know that not having accuracy for all your goals and deadlines is pretty much worthless. I’m no tech novice either. I’ve tried aNote’s back up/ restore sync recommendation too, and imho it is not a good way to synchronize if you are adding new info to either device on a regular basis. Until aNote offers an efficient and dependable solution for synchronization, I STRONGLY recommend (yeah, all caps again!) use either the iPhone app or the iPad app, not both. It’s not worth losing data or missing an appointment.

Has anyone else noticed that in a ‘to-do’ style folder, the ability to mass delete all completed tasks no longer exists? Maybe the feature changed I can’t find it, but it used to be so simple.

That definitely makes sense and it’s good use of the sync, but I’d see that as a one-off solution for getting started on the iPad. Having to tap the sync button manually, wait for what feels like ages for the sync, and then do the same thing after making changes…well, I’m going a little nuts just thinking about it.

I discovered a way to sync the iphone and ipad A-Note data. It took some time to set up initially, and each time I sync it’s a two-step process, BUT it does work very well. When I got my iPad, I already had a couple dozen folders and tons of notes on the iPhone. Step one: sync iPhone with Google Docs. Step 2: sync iPad with Google Docs. All iPhone folders and notes are now also on the iPad, though the colors, background, and some other details were different. I spent an hour converting all the notes and folders on the iPad to have the same appearance as on the iPhone.
Now I can make changes on either device, and then sync both devices with Docs. Works great.
