Get over it, it’s a tv ad who the hell cares that much about an ad on tv. I mean a whole page on how dumb the ads are. Get over it and go do something useful it’s a bit of fun.

Of course all the features are also available in other devices (for reading, Kindle is far superior). But that’s not the point. Apple is selling a product and I think they have the best marketers in the tech world. Don’t think it’s an arrogant line. Every ads should have killer lines.

I agree it seems desperate. Everything showed in the ads can be done on Android now. Are they trying to remind everyone of the previous status of owning one? Do they think that will be enough?

I give Apple alot of credit for innovation and setting new trends. But being first doesn’t mean staying best without continued effort. Anyone connect to the internet using their Delphi dial-up today? I didn’t think so…

Well i quite like them, they state the battle i suffer almost every day, “how can i get that on my phone?” i hear all manner of people say as they wave thier Android phones and Blackberies at me and now all i can say to them is “if you don’t have an iphone, well you don’t have an iphone” that i think is the message Apple is trying to sell, stop all the copy-catting and get a ruddy iphone! almost like the VW ads, almost kind-a sort of smells like looks like and sounds like a VW, BUT it’s nothing like a VW! same diferance

The tag line comes off to me as seeming desperate. Like they fear losing customers to Android and so resort to engendering fear that one might be ridiculed for not having one. Even high school wasn’t that cliche.
As for apps…never used genius. Used better apps for books on iPhone, blackberry, and now HTC inspire.
Out of 100k+ apps….how many are worth getting?

touchscreen phones are stupid gadgets no-one really needs to begin with. this ad is just insulting to anyone with two brain cells to rub together.

ibooks, who gives a shit? i like reading.. real books. ink and paper. and don’t cry about the environment. soy ink and recycled paper have been around for a long time.

and hell no, i do not need or want a ‘genius’ to try and tell me what music i will like. screw that all the way to tibet and back. anyone who is too stupid or too unmotivated to go find and listen to new music and wants it spoon fed to them based on what some dork in a cubicle thinks is a good equation deserves to be tied to a chair and played radiohead and the postal service 24/7 until they break.

every minute you spend absorbed in your phone is another minute you lost that you could have spent engaged in the real world.

yeah it is kinda arrogant…. i have an iphone 4 and i dont use ibooks. kindle has far more and better & cheaper selections than the ibooks. the only difference is the nice shelf like feel of the ibooks app.
But i have to admit though that all the new touchscreen phones that comes out, they look like the iPhone, its like saying, oops a wannabe iPhone.
sometimes as much as i wanna post to my facebook wall that hell this app is so awesome, i stop myself coz people might think yah yah we know u have an iPhone but you dont need to be a dick about it.
but what can i say, freakin apple makes good products, but nothing is perfect, if it only has flash then it will be hehe.
