So in one location, ‘New York’, iPhone users have similar network problems on both carriers. But now he’s going to be ticked if he travels anywhere WITHIN the US, as obviously this is a big exception and not the rule as to which gets better coverage. But if he does travel outside of US and he does use the surf while talking(in locations where you aren’t on WIFI), he probably shouldn’t have switched in the first place.

You’d think a guy with Genius in his name would have realized that. If you have used that many smartphones you should know that a couple of the major metro areas have issues based on carriers. If you live in NY you really should have known that…

If you weren’t stuck on the iPhone, you could have had the ridiculously amazing HTC Thunderbolt. Not only do I get blazing 4G speeds (10-25 Mbps down) but I can use data and voice at the same time over 3G, thanks to the dual CDMA antennas. 3G speeds have been between 2 and 5 Mbps, too, faster than my buddy’s iPhone 4 on AT&T.

I can assure you that if the situation had been the other way around I still would’ve written this post. It would still be just as notable and newsworthy to me, for all the same reasons.

this all sounds like a one sided deal to me … i wonder if the situation had been the other way around if you would have written this story … i’ve heard more positive than i’ve heard negative about the verizon iphone … it seems the negative stories seem to always make these kind of articles … oh well, life goes on and we all must do what we must do …

I’m still very happy with AT&T here in Austin, and I agree – would not want to give up the surf while talking feature.

I keep hearing people in Atlanta saying that Verizon is better. But, seriously I can’t give up the option to talk & surf at the same time. Albeit I hardly speak on the phone…

With BGR being high caliber in the mobile industry, I wonder if Verizon wil reach out to him.
