MacRumors is reporting on complaints that seem to be gaining steam both in Apple’s discussion forums, and MacRumors own forums. It seems that at least some of the recently released MacBook Pros are locking up under computationally heavy loads.
Reportedly the issues is accompanied with a spike in temperature, and a total freeze of the screen. Neither inputs from the mouse, nor the keyboard yield any response.
It also seems that this issues is fairly easily reproduced on a reliable basis. The good news out of all of this, is that Apple does reportedly know about the issues, and presumably will be issuing a fix in the future. At the moment it’s being speculated that this is either a graphics driver or a power management problem.
We’ll keep you posted as we hear more about this issue. If you’re experiencing this problem, let us know. Leave a comment!
