iLounge is reporting that Apple will be introducing it’s new version of MobileMe next month, which will reportedly allow for cloud storage of music, photos, movies and other content that could be accessible from other web-connected devices.
Here’s an excerpt:
The source, who works for a major educational institution, claims the schools supplier has said the current version of MobileMe is no longer available, and that Apple is suggesting new students sign up for the 60-day trial to cover the gap between the final MobileMe shipment and the launch of the new version.
Worth noting, the report also claims that Apple will continue to support existing MobileMe customers an additional year. This of course, suggests that the new service will be different enough from Apple’s current offerings that the current MobileMe service may limp along for another year as an independent service.
This report seems to click with other reports we’ve been hearing, claiming that Apple will introduce the new MobileMe at next month’s rumored iOS 5 event.
