China Times (via MacRumors) is reporting that the next-generation iPhone is now in trial production and will be put into full production by Q3 of this year. They also claim more of what we’ve heard from other reports. That is, a 4-inch screen instead of the 3.5 screen we’ve seen on all iPhones to date, and an all metal chassis for better antenna reception.
Like I said, this essentially backs up the other recent reports we’ve heard that claim the next iPhone will have a very similar form-factor to the current iPhone 4, yet will have a 4-inch screen. It’s still hard to tell if this will be what we see introduced this summer. And I do believe it will be this summer, and not the third quarter as this report claims. Apple, since the launch of the original iPhone in 2007, has kept to a summer release schedule, and I can’t see them changing that any time soon.
