Mac OS X 10.6.7 Hints at AMD GPUs Coming to the Mac

overview_graphics20110224.pngMacRumors is reporting on a find by “tonymacx86” who has found support for several AMD graphics cards that are not currently shipped in any of Apple’s products. Specifically, this clue was found in the version of 10.6.7 that was aimed at (it had several additional bug fixes) for the new 2011 MacBook Pros.

The obvious implication, is that Apple plans to include AMD GPUs in future Mac products. For what it’s worth, here are the GPUs that have been found:
