Verizon is selling the last of their original Wi-Fi iPad stock at prices starting at $299.99 for the 16GB model, $399.99 for the 32GB model, and $499.99 for the 64GB model. That’s around a $200 discount for each model. It offer appears only affect Verizon’s corporate owned stores, not independent stores. Stock is reportedly selling out quick, so if you want one you better act now.
If you’re wondering why Verizon has so many Wi-Fi iPads on hand, you have to remember all the way back to October. Apple and Verizon struck a deal wherein Verizon would bundle one of their Mi-Fi mobile hotspots, offering cellular data plans with a WiFi-only iPad. Well, there is no longer a need for the bundling Mi-Fi devices, seeing as Apple has made a version of the iPad 2 to work with Verizon’s network right out of the box.
This move by Verizon is currently the best deal on original iPads, and closely echos AT&T’s recent price cuts. AT&T is currently offering the original iPad for $429-$529, with only the $529 64GB 3G model left in stock.
