This isn’t breaking news by any means, but I noticed this little connection bar on my iPhone about a week ago and wondered when Google had implemented it. Then I saw this post on the Gmail blog about it.
Basically, Gmail is now even better at letting you know about the status of your connection, whether your mail has been sent, or whether you’re running the web app in Offline mode. A few seconds after the bar provides you with a notification, it will simply disappear.
