MacRumors is reporting on an image one of their readers sent in, that is reportedly an internal RadioShack announcement, that the retailer will be carrying iPad 2 at 500 of their US locations starting tomorrow, March 29th. The report in a later update confirmed through representatives from RadioShack locations, that they company is indeed planning on selling the device tomorrow. I called my own local store, which also confirmed the report.
Anyway, it’s no secret that Apple has been struggling to keep up with the high demand, here in the US and internationally. That said, supply constraints have eased enough for Apple to quote online orders a 3-4 week shipping timeframe compared to the previous 4-5 weeks. It remains to be seen if Apple adding RadioShack to it’s list of distributors is a good or a bad thing. That is, if supply constraints are easing up enough Apple feels comfortable sending RadioShack a few units, or if supplies are still tight, and will get tighter, with Apple sending RadioShack stock.
