(Very) Cool Things: First Stop-Motion Video Made with Hipstamatic Photos

This is great stuff. I like both the video and the song tons. The video was directed and edited by Ivan Ives. The song was written and performed by Ivan Ives and Christina Castellan. More than 4,000 photos shot on an iPhone with the Hipstamatic app. Here’s more background on it:

The first ever stop-motion music video made using the Hipstamatic app for the iPhone.
“You” Valentine’s Day Hipstamatic Stop Motion

For those of you that have the Hipstamatic app for the iPhone, you know how long it takes for it to process and develop each photo taken before you can take more. Thus, this took the standard stop-motion process and made it even more challenging. We thought we were pretty crazy to attempt this, and we definitely were. It was a lot of work but turned out pretty fun.

OVER 4000 PHOTOS TAKEN TO MAKE THIS.

There was no photoshop or other photo manipulation done to these frames, and this video was actually completed at the end of 2010, BEFORE the ability to shoot 9 photos at a time without waiting. (This feature was released on February 11, 2011).

Brilliant.
