Sounds like a great idea – hook an HDMI adapter to your shiny, new iPad2, subscribe to MLB.tv for $100+, download the MLB At Bat App for $14.99, and watch the game on your big screen! Except there’s one problem – the At Bat app does NOT display via the HDMI port. The audio plays normally, and while the app is not running, the video works like normal.
I consider this yet another boneheaded inexcusable move by MLB to alienate their fans. I was looking forward to watching the ballgame on the big screen in the hotel room that I’m in tonight – but that won’t be happening. Oh, and never mind the game video – you can’t even watch the play by play or see the scores via HDMI. Nice.
