AppleInsider is reporting that one new Apple patent has emerged that shows several cameras being built into an iPhone to allow users to take three-dimensional photos. Specifically, one sensor would handle luminance, another would handle color, and the last would handle alignment information. All of this would come together to create a three-dimensional image, without putting extra strain on the CPU.
The next new patent application found by Patently Apple outlines bringing “Spaces” like feature to the iPad, very similar to the feature found on Mac OS X. This feature could be activated by either pinching with two fingers in a specific part of the screen, or possibly by a five finger pinch or tap. The user could either use this feature to quickly switch between work spaces, or pull out and see all of the currently open workspaces. Again, much like “Spaces” on Mac OS X today.

Both of these sound like patents that Apple filed just to be on the safe side, but they don’t sound like something the company would bring to market. I could see the camera sensors before I could see “Spaces” on the iPad. Think about it- Spaces for for fullscreen, single-function apps?
