Verizon iPhone Tops Mobile Sales for February

comScore has released their results of a monthly survey, wherein they question U.S mobile phone customers, and have found that for February 2011, the top selling phone on the market was the new Verizon iPhone 4. This brought Apple to 7.5% of the market for the period between November and February. That’s up from 6.6% from the previous three-month period.

Narrowing the scope of the survey to just smartphones and their OS, Android is on top with 33% of the market, with RIM falling to 28.9%, and Apple maintaining 25.2% market share.

So, more of what we’ve seen before. Apple is holding it’s own, and because of the nature of the software, Android proliferating the market. Everyone else seems to be in trouble. This chart would most certainly look different if it were to factor in iPod touch sales however. And why not include it? It’s essentially the iPhone without the phone, same hardware and software otherwise.
