I covered the jailbreak tweak, ManualCorrect by aerialx, a little after it first came out and I still think of it as an interesting, if radical change from the Apple take on auto-correct.
Basically, what ManualCorrect boils down to is being less bossy about changing what you type, so that it’s all up to you when to accept a correction by tapping on it. On the bright side, this prevents being “sniped” by auto-correction as you try to type quickly on you iPhone, but it also means that words that require any sort of apostrophes will require a little more effort to output.
ManualCorrect Pro ($0.99 on Cydia) looks to improve upon what the free tweak offers by adding custom correction settings, punctuation correction, and a quick access SBSettings toggle. The tweak was released a little earlier today and I definitely plan on giving it a shot, so expect a quick review on iSource soon enough.
