Apple, last week (oops, I missed it) released GarageBand 6.0.2 to the public, which finally brought with it a feature promised to iPad GarageBand owners from the start- compatibility. From the start, Apple planned to allow users to import projects created on their iPad with the iOS version of GarageBand, and continue working on them on their Mac. This is just now coming true, nearly three weeks after the iPad 2’s (and GarageBand of iOS) launch in the U.S.
This update of course, is available through Software Update in the Apple Menu, requires Mac OS X 10.6.3, and is 47.5MB in size. You can also manually download it here.
Why was this not taken care of at launch? Could Apple have simply overlooked it during the hubbub of the launch or did they think that not that many people would want this feature, and thus they had more time to work on it? It’s a small thing, but unusual for Apple.
