White iPhone Removed from Apple Inventory Database

bumper-hero-20110106.jpg9to5Mac is reporting that the Apple Store went down last night, and little changed when it came back online. The report goes onto say that one of their sources claims that the site went down because Apple removed the white iPhone 4 from it’s retail database. This suggests that the white iPhone 4 has been delayed again, if not outright canceled.

Another report surfaced that pointed out the removal of the white iPhone from the Italian website. Specifically, the promotional images for the bumper cases used to be modeled on white iPhones, now they are shown on black models.

Apple is quickly running out of time to meet their third self-imposed timeline for the release of the white iPhone 4. Somewhere along the line, Apple seriously screwed up.
