ifoAppleStore is reporting that Apple Senior Vice President of Retail, Ron Johnson and Vice President of Real Estate Bob Bridger took a look at the newly renovated Hotel Moskva as a possible location for a new Apple retail store. Why is this newsworthy? Hotel Moskva is located in Moscow, Russia.
The space the company is looking at is reportedly 16,000 square-foot, with two levels, and could be moved into as early as the end of this year. Nothing is set in stone, as of yet, but a decision could be made in the near future. This would be Apple’s eastern-most store (outside of Asia, if you want to get picky), a first for any of the nations of the former Soviet Union, and the first in Russia.
It seems like Apple is preping to pump out a lot of new stores this year. Just the other day we heard two reports that Apple would be opening stores in Utah (that state’s second) and one in Arkansas (that state’s first).
