
ModMyI has posted an image that claims the iPad 2 is coming to Toys R’ Us. This photo is purportedly from an employee training session, which suggests a launch may be imminent.
This of course would further Apple’s retail reach even farther outside of what they already have. Apple is currently partnered with the likes of Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, AT&T, Verizon, RadioShock, Best Buy, Target, and of course, Apple’s retail stores.
This leads me to beat the same dead horse I’ve been beating for awhile. This shows that Apple’s manufacturing partner’s are starting to catch up with demand, if Apple is able to add more and more retail outlets to distribute their supply.
To me, at least a first blush, seems like an odd place to sell iPads. If you think about it though, the iPad is as much of a gaming machine, as anything else Toys R’ Us might sell. We’ll see if this comes to fruition, but as of now, color me skeptical.
