Just like any tiger woods game, all starting cash you can afford to use goes into power. I won my first PGA tour event.

I did not experience the crashes that others have seen when I reviewed the app, or I would have mentioned them. However, I do know that this is a real issue, because there are just so many complaints out there.

It’s just such a mixed bag with EA. Games like NBA Jam, Need For Speed, and FIFA 12 are really good, and have seen plenty of updates. On the other hand, FIFA 11 released with tons of bugs, lag issues, and with important features missing, and then had few updates. Tiger Woods and NCAA Football appear to be just as bad. It’s hard to throw every EA title out the window, but based on their track record, I would caution any buyer to wait until after release, check the reviews, and maybe see when the first bug fix update comes.

I’ve messaged EA on twitter and just get ignored. Which is frustrating as they retweet some garbage about other games!
Really disappointed with EA and the price of the game. Sometimes I’m lucky to get past play game until it crashes!

Can the App Store refund on “faulty” apps?! I’m sure if they did EA would do something about it then

I did also get FIFA 12 plays great which I can’t make out the problems with TW12. I won’t get another EA app

I started the PGA tour with no upgrades and won the first event – I was in about 27th after the first 2 days of the tourney, but after I got over the learning curve it was an easy birdie every 2 holes from there on out. Used my winnings to upgrade power, and now I get birdie or eagle every hole. The lack of power is noticeable, but is overstated by these guys – you can still get birdies every few holes because the putting is so easy.

If you get this game on iPhone or IPad, beware. Mine doesn’t crash often (once every half hour isn’t game breaking, since it still saves pretty recently), but I get these “server error” popups about 5 to 10 times every minute. It interrupts shots and is really obnoxious – removes the flow of the game. This game would be 5/5 if it wasn’t so broken; unfortunately, the popups force me to give a 1/5 and never play again.

Also, why not just charge more for the app rather than having to buy the upgrade because your golfer sucks? Don’t think I can purchase another game from EA.

So, it took me a couple more days of frustration and constantly putting in the tutorial to figure out the problem with putting long. The solution is the shadowed target. You can obviously move it however many inches left or right to compensate for the lie. What’s not so obvious is that you can move it up or down/short or long to compensate for the slope. If it’s 1 ft and 6 inches long, move the shadow to that first line in the grid passed the hole. Then you just need to swipe between the lines when putting.

Hope this helps.

When it says 10 inches long you cannot hit the ball the right speed. It goes too short or a mile too long. This is so annoying it wrecks the whole game and causes FRUSTRATION.

Very disappointing from usually a quality game developer…

I one putt every green all the time now. The squares on the green when you putt are a yard by a yard so that means 3foot and all so inches are involed. A caddy tip comes up on the top left side and if you stick to that you will be fine. Once you work it out.

If it said 1 and 5in short you would go to the first line down. Or 1 and 5 in left, you would make that right line go straight over the hole.

Even though you hit it short at the start. If you are hitting it close all the time and sinking that putt for par and havin a chance at birdie sometimes you will find yourself making plenty of money. The key is putting. To me as a professional golfer it is just like the real game. I find I want to play it more when it is harder. No point if it is easy and you are winning all the time. Coz in golf you never win all the time. In fact hardly ever.

Help? Is there a fix?

All you have to do is get your golfer in the mid to low range to win a tourney, then you have enough cash to make real improvements. Don’t bother playing the challenges until you have mid range skill. Playing tiger one on one is the most frustrating aspect, as the game totally lack consistency and reality. I still can’t figure out how to beat the .sat three challenges however.

How the heck are you supposed to compete on the tour hitting 150 yd drive? It’s a total joke. Glad i only spent $.99 on it. I think I’ll stick to the Wii – at least there’s a practice mode there.

Tiger Woods 12 is a piece of crap! It constantly crashes (ipod touch iOS 4.2.1). You have absolutely NO POWER until you upgrade after play for HOURS. I was so tired of playing St. Andrews OVER and OVER until I had enough money to upgrade. The interface is totally wrong and uncontrollable compared with Tiger Woods 11 (which had a great interface). When putting I can’t tell you how many times I had to 2-putt because I was a tap-in short of the hole (I have upgraded all the way up to 1/2 star on putting). Or if I increased the power of the putt by just a little bit it WAYYY over shot the hole and then often giving me a 0-0 to putt on the next shot. As if to make up for the error?? On hole 1 of TPC Sawgrass if you do a fade to the right it sometimes hit an invisible wall (Out of Bounds?) a couple of feet from the tee. WTF??? Making you lose the stroke and have to hit it again. Sometimes when you would roll the ball forward/side the ball goes crazy too far than what would be normal. The numbers are harder to read/see in some places (along with the flag stick). There is no option to practice with black, blue or white tees (you can only practice with the white tees). There is often a white square that appears in the lower right corner when the ball goes over the hole.

Yes, it looks great but if the physics are wrong and the interface sucks and you have no power until you spend hours playing and then upgrading what’s the point? Bring back the Tiger Woods 11 interface/physics and put in the new courses and graphics.

How can I compete on the tour when my golfer can only drive the ball 200 yards under full power and full boost, and 115 yards with the fairway woods and 100 with long irons its taking me 4 or 5 shots to get to the green’s on TPC making the cut is unattainable. Do I really have to play all the stupid mini games just to get cash to make my player actually playable? It leaves me NOT WANTING TO PLAY AT ALL IT’S POINTLESS. I’ll just have to stick to Tiger Woods 11, atleast that one isnt pointless to play, and more realistic. Like seriously my girlfriend can drive the ball 200 yards and she doesn’t even stand or hold the club properly and has no interest in golf.

I’m curious what devices are you guys using? I have been running it on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2, and have had maybe 2 crashes in three weeks now. I know there have been other apps that built to push the hardware a bit that had issues on older devices. Have either of you tried running the app after a reboot? This clears the memory of your device, so it might help.

That’s probably why the price has been reduced. EA doesn’t seem to care. I’ll never buy another product from EA.
