Apple Snatching Gaming Executives from Other Companies

MCV in two separate articles, is reporting that Apple has hired two different Public Relations Executives from two separate video gaming giants. First, Apple grabbed Rob Saunders of Nintendo, and then Nick Grange of Activision.

Rob Saunders, who is said to have been a key player in the roll out of such products as the Wii and Nintendo DS, will reportedly take a roll at Apple with regards to PR for all iOS devices that Apple ships. As for Grange, who has also worked at Electronic Arts, Microsoft, and the like, will work solely on iPad hardware.

Apple has been clearly positioning their devices, specifically the iPod touch, as a gaming device. These recent hires seem to further back that effort. It seems that Sony has effectively been knocked out of the handheld gaming competition, by Nintendo, and Apple is encroaching on Nintendo’s lead. This will be interesting to watch unfold.
