DigiTimes is reporting that Apple is in talks with two different Taiwanese integrated circuit design companies. These companies are Integrated Memory Logic, and Capella Microsystems, both of which, if a deal where to be struck, would help supply components for iOS devices.
Integrated Memory Logic is reportedly on board to supply gamma buffers, to be used in the iPad, which help with luminance on LCDs. Capella however, has already reportedly shipped new ambient light sensors to Apple for testing. If everything checks out ok, Capella could be supplying Apple with new light sensors by the end of this year. The hope is, these new sensors would be an improvement over the current sensors used in the iPhone 4.
