Remember the Milk task manager for iPad

Timing is everything. I had a paid subscription for the Remember the Milk cloud task manager a few years ago, but no iPad. Fast forward a few years and I’m sitting here with an iPad, but no RTM subscription, making the app a free, but nearly useless download for me.

But then again, maybe timing isn’t everything. Treating users well counts for a lot more. I gave up the RTM subscription because it was an extra $25/year that wasn’t getting me anything aside from syncing and access to the iPhone app. There were supposed beta or pro features that I could have tried, but I never received invites or options to take part in anything.

Basic users can now use the iOS apps without paying, but are only allowed to sync once every 24 hours, which seems completely ridiculous to me. It’s true that the $25/year subscription isn’t a ton of money as far as online services go, but I appreciate the freemium approach of services like Evernote or Toodledo much more, where basic accounts are actually powerful and flexible enough for most users, and Pro/Premium users get treated like Internet royalty. RTM’s approach is much more of a Lite approach, but without the Lite moniker.

But where was I? Oh, right, Remember the Milk for iPad is out on the App Store now as a universal app. Download away, if you want to. 🙂
