Apple Exhibiting at BookExpo America to Raise iBooks Awareness

icon175x175.pngpaidContent is reporting that Apple will be exhibiting, with a booth, at the BookExpo America to raise awareness of iBooks. This will be Apple’s first showing there, and one of Apple’s few appearance at third-party showcases, especially since the company left MacWorld in January of 2009.

To be clear, Apple isn’t expected to show anything new at the show, and appear to be doing this just for the sake of publicity in an effort to give iBooks traction in the market.

I’m glad Apple is doing this, but the biggest problem that iBooks has, isn’t visibility, but rather, the store’s crappy selection. They have the crappy NYTimes best-sellers list- type book market cornered. But old classics, such as Thurber, or Ian Fleming, don’t exist on the store yet. Why?
