Intel To Lower Power Consumption in Mobile Processors, Work Closely with Apple

intel2.jpgIntel has recently outlined it’s plans going forward in the mobile processor business, and aims to lower their processors’ power consumption from the current 35 watt range, to a much lower 10-15 watt range.

This seems to be a response from Intel to better compete in the mobile processor field against companies such as ARM, who are currently dominating the market in regards to devices such as the iPad.

Now that’s not to say that Apple will adopt these processors in their iPad line right away, but they will most certainly feel the benefits in their MacBook lines of computers. We know this, because Intel has recently acknowledged that they work closely with Apple. In fact, they work so close that Apple occasionally influences their roadmap going forward.
