Did Apple Hire A Jailbreak Notifications Developer For iOS 5?

Here’s a bit of blatant conjecture for your Memorial Day Weekend: wouldn’t it be cool if Peter Hajas’ sudden departure from his Mobile Notifier project was caused by some sort of obligation to Apple? Obligation in a sort of “I’m working for Apple and can’t talk about my work right now” kind of way.

After all, we all know that Apple’s notification system could use a serious revamp, and Mobile Notifier has been one of the most popular notification system alternatives since its release a few months ago. Then there are the rumours flying around about how iOS 5 could be getting a complete overhaul with regards to notifications and widgets. Finally, there’s the ending of Peter Hajas’ most recent blog post that encourages people to “stay foolish and stay hungry”, which is very clearly an ode to Steve Jobs’ commencement address at Stanford University back in 2005 (via iPhone in Canada).

I think it’s reasonable to suspect that Hajas could have some sort of position or project related to Apple and notifications, but I also highly doubt that we’ll be able to see his work at WWDC (which is just a little over a week away at this point). Still, the timing of his departure from Mobile Notifier is awfully suspicious…
