Review: Fantastical for Mac

There are enough written reviews of Fantastical on the net, so I thought I’d try something a little different. This review of the fantastic little calendar app is half screencast, half video review, and features all the chiclet-y clicking of my Mac’s keyboard (err, that’s a bonus or something).

I try to quickly walk through most of the important features, but I did neglect to mention one of them: the ability to anchor Fantastical by simply clicking on the little anchor icon while the app is visible. This makes the app much handier for creating appointments in reference to data you already have on-screen, and it’s just one of the many great ideas in this menu bar app.

If it’s not clear already, this Flexibits app comes highly recommended; you can pick Fantastical up on the Mac App Store or from Flexibits’ website for $20.

    QuickCal does all of this – and it’s a lot cheaper

      @Michael

      We’ve covered QuickCal on numerous occasions on this site and sometimes even in the same breath as Fantastical. That said, last time I checked, QuickCal was as functional as Fantastical (if not more so), but not quite as slick.

    I like Fantastical’s interface, but he big missing piece for Fantastical is the ability to create and display tasks, which QuickCal does with ease.
