Nuance Technologies Still Coming to iOS 5 This Fall?

233939-nuance_logo.jpgLeading up to WWDC there were rumors abound regarding Apple integrating Nuance voice recognition, and text-to-speech technologies in iOS 5. Yesterday’s announcement came and went without a mention of any such technology. A new report has come up claiming that a deal may still be in the works, and the deal wasn’t in place to make an announcement at yesterday’s keynote.

The report goes on to suggests that the public even knowing about the rumored deal, may have thrown a wrench in the cogs, seeing as both Apple and Nuance are notorious for not backing down in regards to negotiations.

They do point to several solid pieces of evidence as their proof that a negotiation is still ongoing. First, Nuance’s chief mobile platform architect was at yesterday’s keynote. Secondly, Roger Rosner of Apple made an on-stage appearance talking about something totally unrelated to technologies, even though he was rumored to be slated to speak about the Nuance deal. Something apparently broke down at the last minute to change what Rosner was talking about on stage.
