Apple Retail Employees to Work Overnight to Prep for July 14th Lion Release?

Screen shot 2011-06-07 at 1.12.05 PM.pngTwo separate reports have surfaced over the weekend, that if mashed together, suggest that Apple will indeed be rolling out Lion on July 14th as previous rumors had suggested.

First off, 9to5Mac is reporting that Apple has scheduled overnight work shifts for retail employees on Wednesday, July 13th. Working overnight, employees will be adjusting in-store promotional materials, and management will receive briefing on what’s new. That said, the report does not specifically suggest that the stores are prepping for Lion. However…

A second report from AppleInsider, states much the same- overnight work shifts are slated for this week. They do add that Apple will be installing more RAM in their retail display Macs. This of course, suggests that Apple is bumping up the specs of their machines before installing Lion.

The report goes on to say that Lion is in fact coming this week, and Apple will likely introduce new MacBook Airs a week later. They also suggest that Apple will be inviting customers to come to their retail stores to download OS X Lion. There is also a strong likelihood that new MacBooks, Mac Minis and Mac Pros will be introduced in the following weeks.
