Confirmed: OS X Lion Ships Tomorrow

Screen shot 2011-06-07 at 1.12.05 PM.pngAt today’s earnings conference call, Apple Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer let it slip, that OS X Lion will indeed be shipping tomorrow, July 20th, as had been previously rumored.

Of course, the Mac App Store will be the only way to obtain the update, and it’s a hefty 4GB download. So, Apple reportedly has plans in place for customers to come into their retail stores and download the update there. Also, this announcement should be no surprise. Just earlier today we received reports that some European retailers had prematurely hung signage announcing the release.

The general consensus is that OS X Lion will become available for purchase at 5:30AM PDT/8:30 CDT tomorrow morning. Lion will sell for $29.99 USD.
