Apple To Introduce White iPod Touch Later This Year?

white_ipod_touch_front_plate.jpgAppleInsider is reporting on the speculation of Ming-Chi Kuo, a Concord Securities analyst, who now claims that Apple will be introducing a white iPod touch at this year’s iPod refresh event. Otherwise, the next-generation iPod touch is expected to look identical, at least externally, to the current iPod touch.

Of course, references were found in iOS 5 of a “iPod4,2”, instead of an expected “iPod5,2” which suggests the forthcoming, refreshed iPod touch will be a minor update. I suspect it will be equipped with an A5 processor.

Furthermore, iFixyouri stumbled upon a white faceplate which is presumed to be for the next-generation iPod touch. These white parts appear identical to the ones currently being used on the shipping iPod touch.

This could be an elaborate fake, but to me, it doesn’t sound out of place. Apple finally got the white painting process figured out, and will be showing it off on as many products as they can.
