Apple Seeds: Apple and HTC Nearing Settlement in Patent Case, Apple Strikes Deal for Grand Central Station Store

HTC Looking to Settle Apple Patent Suit

Bloomberg is reporting that HTC may be ready to settle with Apple in regards to the patent suit Apple filed against them. Apple has already won a preliminary victory against HTC with the US International Trade Commission. More interestingly, in a second report Bloomberg notes that with Apple and Google are scrambling to buy up patents, and as a result the price of patents is going up. For example, both companies are looking to buy patents from InterDigital, and it is expected to fetch a price 50% higher than it would have if the two companies were not bidding on them. Apple Strikes Deal for Grand Central Station Store

This one has been floating around the Apple rumor mill for some time, but now it seems we have the closest thing to proof we’ve seen yet. The New York Post is reporting that Apple has signed a 10-year deal for a 23,000 square foot store in Grand Central Station. Remember, Apple has stated that they are forgoing the smaller mall-type stores in favor of larger, more iconic stores. This fits the bill perfectly. [Read More]
