DisplaySearch, a research company, has released numbers regarding mobile PC sales in Q2 2011, and found that when the iPad is included in those numbers, Apple shipped the most, beating out HP, Dell, and others.
The study calculated number based on both traditional mobile computer, and tablet sales, with Apple at 21.1%, with 13.6 million units shipped. The runner-up was HP with 15% share after shipping 9.7 million units.
Even with Apple at the top, Samsung and Dell still led in year-over-year shipment growth in regards to notebook PCs, but Apple’s iPad still beat it out, with shipments doubling year-over-year.
Lastly, non-Apple tablet quarterly shipments are now at 5.6 million units, which sounds impressive until you take into account that other manufacturers’ tablets are not selling as well as the iPad. Nonetheless, tablet shipments have increased 70% quarter-over-quarter, and jumped nearly 400% year-over-year.
